Entertainment: D'prince role in my switch to Mavins Record - Rema
Mavins record sensation Divine Ikubor otherwise known as Rema revealed how fellow musician and Don Jazzy brother D'Prince convinced him to join Mavins record.
"I told D’prince sir I’m making money where I’m at I think I’m good. D’prince said to me stop what you’re doing and come to me boy “you’re the chosen one”, this music shit is gonna pay if you trust me!" Says Rema on his social media page.
Rema who performed yesterday at the Big Brother Naija season five finale where Laycon was crowned the winner of the reality television show is one of the biggest breakthrough artists in Nigeria in the last two years.
The 20-year old Afrobeat star is the current holder of the next rated artiste award in Nigeria after winning it in 2019.
Rema was also nominated for Bet International Act award alongside Burna Boy. The Benin born star is one of the best in his category in the music industry today with fans across the world jamming to his songs.
His breakthrough song "Iron Man" made former America President Barack Obama's 2019 summer playlist. A feat that shows how far his music is acceptable in the society beyond the Africa continent.
