Politics: APC Crisis in Ekiti deepens as 8 former and serving lawmakers suspends Fayemi over anti-party activities
The political crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State deepens as eight former and present lawmakers from the state suspend Governor Kayode Fayemi from the party over allegation of anti-party activities.
The decision to suspend Kayode Fayemi from the party was taken yesterday in a state executive council meeting held.
Those present are the meeting includes former senators Tony Adeniyi, Babafemi Ojudu, and Dayo Adeyeye. Others are Bimbo Daramola, Robinson Ajiboye, and Oye Ojo, the trio are former House of Representative members.
The former Speaker of Ekiti State house of assembly, Adewale Omirin, and Femi Adeleye were also present at the meeting.
The factional APC State Executive Council members in the state accused Governor Kayode Fayemi of working against the party and its candidate in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Edo State amongst others.
The aggrieved APC members also accused the governor of not conducting party congress in the state to fill the state executive council but only parading himself and few others illegality as the executive members of APC in Ekiti State.
The chairman of Nigeria's Governors Forum is yet to react to his purported suspension by the aggrieved party members and former legislators.
