Portuguese captain and Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for COVID-19 during international duty in his native Portugal.

Report that the former 5 times world footballer of the year is carrying the virus surfaces online today and the footballer will now isolate himself while getting treatment.

Ronaldo, who is currently representing his nation in the UEFA Nations League is the latest high-profile footballer to contract the virus.

The Portugues Football Association announced that the 35- year old footballer is carrying the virus in their official statement after the team game against the France National team.

The legendary footballer featured for Portugal against Spain and France in the latest round of the UEFA Nations League during the ongoing international football break. Ronaldo contracting the virus will be a setback to the Juventus campaign when league football returns this weekend. 

Juventus, his club side is yet to react to the news of Ronaldo contracting COVID-19. The is latest wave of COVID-19 in Europe with more people testing positive to the virus.
