Protest: Tacha abandons Port Harcourt protest following Wike's warning
Former reality star and brand influencer Tacha Akide canceled his appearance in today's proposed end sars protest in Port Harcourt following Nyesom Wike's warning against protesters in the state.
Tacha, who flew into Port Harcourt, Rivers State to partake in the end sars protest slated for today's posted on his Twitter handle that she won't be appearing at the Treasure Park venue of the protest again.
The reality star that was disqualified from 2019 edition of the Big Brother Naija reality television show is one of the popular personalities from Port Harcourt willing to partake in the peaceful protest.
Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike banned all forms of protests in the oil-rich state last night saying the Federal Government has now proscribed the Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit of the Nigerian Police from operating.
Despite Wike's banned protest in Rivers State, the youth are still ready to protest in the state today.
Port Harcourt protest might turn bloody due to the volatile security in the South-South State.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari's led Federal government has proscribed the Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit of the Nigerian Police after protest erupts in major towns and cities in Nigeria including the federal capital territory, Abuja and Lagos calling for the ban of the rogue police unit.
