 Shehu Sani speaks as Hisbah police shave youths hair in Kano

Activist and former senator in the 8th assembly of the Nigerian senate Shehu Sani cautions the Hisbah Police in Kano for publicly shaving the hair of some youths in the state over what they tagged as hairstyles that negate the doctrine of Islam.

"Dear Hisbah,

I appeal to you to stop shaving the Hairs of those young men. Abundance hair is not a Crime. Its Our natural identity. I will talk to them to dress it well.

Thank you" says Shehu Shahi while reacting to the actions of men of the Hisbah Police.

Shehu Sani was the senator that represented Southern Kaduna Senatorial District between 2015-2019 in the national assembly. 

Photos of the religious police shaving some youths hair surface on social media in the early hour of today. The Hisbah Police is notorious for their high handedness in society. 

The regional security outfit is popular for destroying alcoholic drinks in northern Nigeria and a clampdown on people that consume alcoholic drinks in the society. 

Despite the public outcry against the operations of the religious police, the governors in states where they operate have said nothing against their human rights abuses.
